The Garden
A rear garden gradually ascending from the house where the garden is packed full of inspired ideas and surprises. Landscaped and built by enthusiastic owners into four distinct rooms from an overgrown wilderness with photos to show transformation. Planting in abundance, ranging from exotics and unusual through to traditional.
As you walk up the steps take time to view our landscaped front garden, incorporating our Heuchera slope, grasses, shrubs and complete with a sculpture & unusual hand rails to our own design. As you walk down the side entrance (Hosta Walk) this will bring you out into our mediterranean patio, packed with Lemon’s, Banana, Vine, Olive, Cordylines, Bottlebrush, Brugmansia & Fig tree, also completing the area a water feature, sitting and dining area. Our sweeping steps take you past the stunning hot bed area (especially in August), which contains Canna’s, Ricinus, Ensete, Phormiums, Melianthus, Amaranthus & Coleus. Past the Trachycarpus Fortunei and cyprus trees we arrive at our Entertaining Patio area. From this patio you have access to the pond & stream area, with both sunny & shady area planting containing Arisema, Podophyllums, Tree Ferns, hostas etc. Moving up the garden our lawned area surrounded on all four sides with borders overflowing with plants to numerous to mention, there is also our monochrome island bed, with Sambuca, ‘Black Lace’ & ‘Black Beauty’, Hydrangea Panicularta ‘Limelight’, Alliums, Ophiopogon, & Lysimachia Clethroides. Once through the pergola is our multi coloured raised bed vegetable area with greenhouses and a small wildlife garden. Views of the Lickey Hills from the porch of the summer house shed completes the garden.
Out teas and homemade cakes are served from the Garden Room, there are numerous seating areas around the garden and in the garden room for you to relax with your refreshment, whilst looking at our Garden Chronicle showing how the garden has progressed from wilderness to current condition.
A constantly developing garden, if you have been before expect to see changes.
